The exhibition, "Wu Guanzhong: I Owe My Life to Art", belongs to both the “Eminent Artists in Shenzhen,” a signature exhibition series of Shenzhen Art Museum, and the Masterpiece Collection Series of Zhejiang Art Museum.
Wu Guanzhong is a unique and famous artist in the history of Chinese art in the twentieth century. He has made great contributions to the practice of integrating Chinese and Western art, and his artistic thinking has had a great influence on the development of Chinese painting. He devoted his life to the “nationalization of oil painting” and “modernization of Chinese ink and wash painting.” Combining Western painting with Chinese artistic spirit and aesthetic ideals, he promoted the contemporary transformation of Chinese painting with his outstanding creativity and became an admirable artistic peak.
